
COTOG: A Deep Dive
COTOG is a skills development initiative specifically designed to bridge the gap between academia (gown) and the practical world (town) for young veterinarians and para-veterinarians. The program aims to enhance their practical capabilities in clinical, surgical, research, and business aspects of the profession.
COTOG's Core Objectives
Partner and Engage
Early-career veterinarians and para-veterinarians can benefit from externship opportunities, mentorship, and practical training from academic professionals, industry specialists, and veterinary business owners.
Train and Mentor
- By the end of 2023, there will be at least 100 veterinarians and para-veterinarians (pilot phase).
- Participants in routine veterinary commercial, surgical, clinical, and research procedures.
Build
- Employability potential of young veterinary and animal health care professionals
- Entrepreneurial awareness and knowledge of veterinary products.
- Research and teaching capacity through human capital and infrastructural development
